How to solve
- List candidates for each of the 8 colors, then force singletons.
- Update row/column bans after every placement before scanning again.
- Watch corners: cats cannot share an edge or a corner.
- Answer: R1C3, R2C7, R3C1, R4C5, R5C2, R6C4, R7C6, R8C8.
Tips for this level
- Keep X marks tidy so row and column candidates stay readable.
- Diagonal contact is easy to miss when the board gets crowded.
- If two options remain, case-split briefly and undo when a color dies.
